A Milestone for Sustainable Buildings in Belgium
On February 21st, 2025, we have gathered with all future founding members of the Belgian Green Building Council (BGBC), marking a major step forward in advancing sustainability within the built environment. This milestone event marked the end of an intense journey towards the official launch, taking place March 10th. It brought together key stakeholders from across the industry; suppliers, constructors, investors, developers, architects, universities, banks and sustainability experts. All united by a shared vision: to accelerate the transition to greener, more resilient buildings in Belgium.
Our kick-off event took place at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), a fitting location given its commitment to sustainability and innovation in the built environment. The university provided the perfect setting for meaningful discussions, networking, and the exchange of ideas on how we can drive sustainable change in Belgium’s real estate sector.
Following the gathering, we had the privilege of visiting the remarkable Braem Building which underwent a comprehensive renovation to enhance its sustainability and its functionality while preserving its architectural heritage.
